Inspired by the brutality and simplicity of the substance it was made from, Kvara is made from 300mm wide flat bar mild steel - a material ordinarily cut and welded to be part of a much bigger civil engineering structure.
Kvara is initially pressed and foldedĀ byĀ industrial fabricators in Hull, UK. Designer Oscar Coakley then hand files back the sharp edges and meticulously peens them with a ball headed hammer to achieve an edge characteristic of the rough, unyielding nature of the piece, while being safe to the touch.
