Eames Plastic Side Chair RE DSL La Fonda
The DSL Chair, also known as Dining Height Side Chair La Fonda Base, was originally developed by the Eames's in 1961 for their friend Alexander Girard, who was designing a new restaurant in New York City called La Fonda del Sol.
Now in fully recycled plastic
As of Spring 2024 the shells of the Eames Plastic Chairs are now made of recycled post-consumer plastic and the chair family will be known known as Eames Plastic Chair RE.
The high-quality recycled material is obtained through the 'Yellow Bag' (Gelber Sack) collection programme in Germany. Utilising this material generates fewer climate-damaging emissions, with a significant reduction in primary energy consumption.
Physical samples can always be viewed in store at haus®.
Compatible loose seat pads are available separately in a range of fabrics and/or leathers: see Soft Seats Indoor Seat Pads and Soft Seats Outdoor Pads.

Seat shell in dyed-through, recycled polypropylene - 100% recyclable.
Note: due to the composition of the recycled material, the seat shell colours exhibit very subtle specks of pigment.
Base in die-cast aluminium, polished or powdercoated.
Seat also available with a seat cushion (screwed to the seat shell) or fully upholstered.
Fully upholstered version has moulded polyurethane foam padding covered in fabric, attached to the shell with a welted edge.
