Different Trains Cabinet with Black Doors by Matthew Hilton
Different Trains was named after Steve Reich’s contemporary composition of the same name. The sliding movement of the compact laminate doors on the cabinet facade have a visual rhythm that recalls the movement of sounds in the composition.
Long planks of solid hardwood create a cabinet with an open form, while the sliding doors articulating the facade partially conceal the cabinet contents, engaging play between positive and negative space.
Available in two widths and one, two or three tiers, various configurations are possible. The wide/single tier version particularly lends itself to use as an A/V unit, while the taller units function well as room dividers.

Available in American black walnut, American white oak, or European Ash in a range of finishes. Sliding compact laminate doors in black articulate the facade.
Matte black painted steel legs.

Please note: the 240cm wide cabinet comes with six sliding doors total per shelf, consisting of two of each door size, placed along one side of the cabinet only. The 120cm wide unit comes with three doors per shelf, consisting of one of each door size, placed along one side of the cabinet only.
